A major networking event in the Gloucestershire market town of Tetbury will be held in the last week of April, it has been revealed. The purpose of the event is to promote tourism to the region and to improve the quantity and quality of services for youths in the county. Gloucestershire, which has been particularly hard hit by youth unemployment. Competition for jobs has remained fierce and recent government figures have shown that the number of young people applying for Job Seeker’s Allowance in Gloucestershire has increased drastically in the last few months. With around 50,000 tickets on sale at a price from as little as 50 Dollars to as much as 800 Dollars, places for the gig sold out in just a few days. Paul McCartney will arrive in Uruguay via a luxury private jet and could be staying at a farm situated in the eastern part of the country.

If you’re in the sporting mood, the Danish organisers have added a few extras to start off your week. On Sunday, June 3, there will be both a golf tournament and a football competition. So, if you want to combine a week of learning about the latest advances in geophysics technology with sport, fine wine and good company, the EAGE is certainly a lot less dry than you might expect.

On March 27, 2012 in Turin, Italy the EXPO Ferroviaria will open and it will be held at the Lingotto Exhibition Centre. This will be the fifth installment of this exhibition which ends on March 29^th and it is expected that thousands of people will visit. This is considered a major event on the calendar of the rail industry and it provides suppliers to the rail network of Italy and Europe in general an opportunity to market their products and services.

Over the years this exhibition has gotten the support of both private entities and government agencies. This year’s there will be two high-level conferences held at the exhibition venue, one will be organized by the CIFI (the Association of Italian Railway Engineers) and the other by ASSTRA (the Italian Association of Public Transport Operators.

Among the exhibitors will be companies from countries such as Germany, France, Austria, and Switzerland. Visitors will be both from the general public and those in the industry. Some will be dressed in their savile row suits and will be representing rail infrastructure authorities, government and regional transport authorities, equipment and product manufacturers, track infrastructure and maintenance providers, urban rail operators, and main line railway operators.

A feature of this exhibition will be the viewing by visitors to the expo of Turin’s significant rail facilities. Thus visitors will be able to see the Turin Automated Metro, the VANAHEIM project prototype, the Alstom Savigliano plant, the Porta Milano railway Museum and refurbishment workshop, and the Light Rail Workshop.

This year there will also be an On Track Display, where as part of the show a short track will be laid that will have five sections in the exhibition hall. This will aid in giving a level of authenticity so that the setting for rail-mounted machinery and vehicles is provided.
