The Sierra Leone national team coach John Jebbor Sherrington  has said that he was impressed with the performance of his players despite their 2-1 defeat  by  England's League One team Millwall on Saturday July 4, 2007 at the New Den stadium in London.

Coach Sherrington said that his team lost the match because of the failure of the European based players to turn  up. “ I  only had to use players who have not be playing regular football in London. As you can see that although they are not playing for any team here in the UK they were still able to put a great fight against a team that have have been playing together for a long time”, speaking also to the press the team captain, Kemoikai Kallon said that it  said that it was unfortunate that they lost the match to the Millwall F.C., but they are going back to Sierra Leone to prepare for their next  African Nations Cup  qualifier against Benin.

One of the organizers of the match, Mr Jibateh said that despite the failure of the star players to come for the match it was a good match.  “This can just show the Sierra Leone have talents". But when questioned on the timing. But whenquestioned on the timing of the match which caused the absence of the European based players, he responded that this was the only times they have to organise this match".
