Review: EXPO Ferroviaria 2012

On March 27, 2012 in Turin, Italy the EXPO Ferroviaria will open and it will be held at the Lingotto Exhibition Centre. This will be the fifth installment of this exhibition which ends on March 29^th and it is expected that thousands of people will visit. This is considered a major event on the calendar of the rail industry and it provides suppliers to the rail network of Italy and Europe in general an opportunity to market their products and services.

A world of pleasure: the paintings of Lucian Freud…

Lucian Freud was, without doubt, one of England’s greatest ever portrait painters — a man who will be greatly missed and considered for a long time to come. Painters full-stop, for that matter. His skill, when it came to using colour and shape to represent the human body, were second to none. Quite frankly, if you don’t head on over to his posthumous exhibition – which is taking place in the National Portrait Gallery – then you’re missing out on the work of a modern master (while you’re there, you’ll be in the presence of greatness – the National Portrait Gallery is like nowhere else, and contains the best space in London for showing portrait paintings of all descriptions).

While many painters have been labelled as boring or stagnant over the years, these were words which were never attributed to this man…

Olympia Beauty Show 2012

The beauty industry is a huge part of the UK economy, an industry that continues to grow as more and more women and men seek to look good and feel their best. It isn’t hard to see why the beauty industry has grown in the way it has, the abundance of glossy magazines on the supermarket shelves, newspaper articles pointing out celebrities not wearing make up and photos of us constantly being posted all round Facebook have all contributed to us as a nation being more concerned by the way in which we look than ever before. Furthermore, with icons such as David Beckham leading the way an interest in male grooming as become more widespread and pertinent in the industry, as men begin to spend more time in front of the mirrors that their female counterparts.
