Use Digital Signs at Exhibitions

January 5th, 2012 posted by admin

Attend any trade and business exhibition these days and you will likely see many booths and stand all with well thought out displays and large signs all trying to get visitors to stop by. If you look close what you will also realize is that not many of the participants are using digital signage to help them stand out and grab the attention of visitors. Here are some tips for using digital signage when at an exhibition.

Use a wireless internet connection

It is expensive to exhibit at a trade show so when you add the cost of accessing their provided internet connection the expense will rise. Set up you signage so that it can operate via a program on your website. To do this with the least expense, use a 3G or a 4G wireless network and your computers media player. This way you can change what is shown at will.

Internet connection not available

Should there be no internet connection download your dynamic ads to a jump drive or a memory card and insert the cards directly into the digital screen since most if not all now come with a built in card slot, so no Internet connection needed. You can change the memory card every few days to display fresh content.

Your content

This has to be compelling and dynamic since it is what usually attracts the audience to your stand or booth. The content should be “snappy”, with short bursts of information displayed. Stay away from anything that resembles a complete corporate presentation. So if you are marketing solicitor services your content can include short lines such as “ best divorce solicitor “. The aim is to get your message across really quick.

Size of the screens.

These tend to vary anywhere from 22 inches to over 100 inches digital displays. The size of the screen has to be incorporated in to the overall design of your trade stand or booth.

Where to place displays.

The general rule here is to have the biggest screens placed at the back of the booth, and smaller televisions placed at the front. Keep the centre of the displays at eye level if possible.
